JESUS’ APPROACH TO FRATERNAL CORRECTION: CATHOLIC SUNDAY SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS: 23RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, CYCLE A, 2023

The Christian Church, community, family, and religious life are not devoid of conflictual living, hence Jesus’ way to fraternal correction is fundamental. However, we must have an open mind to fraternal correction and sensitivity to others´ complaints. Community healing is through authentic reconciliation and listening to each other. In other words, a conscious, authentic and constructive dialogue is necessary for reconciliation.

PRAYER AND HOSPITALITY: CATHOLIC SUNDAY SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS:  20TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, CYCLE A, 2023

Prayer and hospitality are the two pillars of Christian spirituality. In prayer with relate and communicate with God, while in hospitality we live out our prayer life in relationship to others. In modern times, the spiritual and prayerful life is a challenge to Christians. There is dryness in spiritual and prayer life. We are discouraged by so many unanswered prayers in our daily lives.

THE GLORY OF CHRIST: CATHOLIC SUNDAY SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS: THE TRANSFIGURATION OF THE LORD, CYCLE A, 2023

The transfiguration is the manifestation of the glory of Christ on earth. What a grace for Peter and James and John to see Jesus transfigured. They got a preview of the glory of Jesus rising from the dead and his glory in heaven. It was also a preview of the glory we all hope to share in heaven. This was a very special grace for Peter and James and John and indeed for all of us.

GOD`S PATIENCE, MERCY, AND GRACE AMIDST EVIL INCLINATIONS: CATHOLIC SUNDAY SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS: 16TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, CYCLE A, 2023

Our Sunday reflection of this week invites us to meditate on God`s patience, mercy, and grace upon us amidst our evil tendencies and inclinations. The problem of evil in the “best” world created by a powerful, loving, knowing, and omnipotent God is very unfathomable to the human mind and an enigma to human existence. Is God responsible for evil in the world? Shouldn´t He have prevented it, if He is all-powerful, all-presence, and all-knowing?

THE POWER OF THE WORD OF GOD: CATHOLIC SUNDAY SCRIPTURE REFLECTIONS: 15TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, CYCLE A, 2023

There is an immense power in our spoken word and more so, there is a living and effective power in the Word of God. Actually, the Word of God is God Himself. Hence, the Word of God and the heart of men and women are co-relational in Christian life. This is because the amount and quality of the fruits our hearts bear depend on the level and depth of integration the Word of God has in our hearts.
