Today’s readings invite and challenge us to become true Christian disciples of Christ with total commitment and no half-measure with God. You cannot be a Christian with certain preferences or conditions to follow God.
The Christian baptism is our profound commitment and mission to Christ and his kingdom. It is not just a mere religious ritual or rite of sacred oil, water and words pronouncement. Actually, the sacrament of baptism opens us up to the grace of God and the Christian life.
Fundamentally, Christianity is a spirituality of total declaration of Christ as the Lord and Saviour out of personal faith conviction. And the practical living of the highest moral standard this faith confession means or implies to the Christian vocations.
