GUARDIAN ANGELS: OUR LIFE´S COMPANION
The concept of angels is hard to visualize in an age of materialism, advance science and technology. Yet, there is overwhelming evidence of the divine assistance always in our lives. the holy guardian angels: our life´s companion is a clear demonstration. God´s manifestations are through divine and strange signs as well as an ordinary and common human medium.
ANGELS ARE EVERYWHERE
There are angels everywhere and every time in our lives. We can meet angels in the quietness of God´s presence in the church. Angels can be met like God´s creation. On the busy, bustling and hustling streets owe could meet angels. More in the human daily interactions with familiar faces or strange we could meet and be touched by angels.
One of my favourite TV operas is “Touched by an Angel”: an American fantasy drama television series that premiered on CBS. That elaborates the supernatural intervention of an angel through a human medium.
BIBLICAL EVIDENCE OF ANGELS CONTACT
The Letter to the Hebrews 13: 2 invites us with this admonition; “do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some have entertained angels without knowing it” (Hebrews 13:2). This is clear sign angels are everywhere among us.
THE FIRST READING: EXODUS 23:20-23
On Moses´s life mission, God assures him of his angel presence to accompany, protect, guard and lead him. If, however, he remains docile and obedient to God´s inspiration through his angel.
Psalm 91 articulate the divine assistance to us of the visible and invisible constant providence of God in any and every life´s event.
THE GOSPEL: MATTHEW 18:1-5, 10
Jesus affirms the ever-presence of angel defending our child-like innocence before God and men. He presents to us the angelic-child-like attitudes to life and Christian service and importance. That invites us to total trust in God´s divine providence and assistance to us in our life´s journey. |
WHO ANGELS ARE TO US
Angels are also divine creatures whose principal duty is to serve, worship and adore God. ” And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!” Revelation 4:8
Notably, the concept of a guardian angel is of a tutelary spirit assigned by God to watch over, protect and guide us. According to Saint Jerome, “how great the dignity of the soul, since each has from his birth an angel to guard it.”
THE HELP HEAVEN OFFERS US
Guardian angels are spiritual and trusted friends God gives to us. They are to act as our guards, shield and protector against danger. they are also our inner voice of conscience to follow God´s order and inspiration through the Holy Spirit.
This implies not only God´s love, care and protection. It is also about divine providence and divine assistance to the soul on spiritual matters as well as material things.
OUR GREATEST CHALLENGE
The feast of the guardian angels we celebrate today presents us with a profound challenge of being an angel to others. in every life circumstances especially trial times. we are a call to be friends, empaths and leaning hands to many in need of divine and human assistance. In a nutshell, if we want to be angels. We must be child-like in attitude and character. This will make us sensitive, empathetic, spiritual sociability to relate, connect and feel with others.
OUR PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ, you call us to Child-like life, faith and attitude in God´s vineyard. Help us to live as such always and everywhere under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and our guardian angels. And may we feel and connect to others in need especially in the despair and desperate moments. Amen
